Viele dieser orthodoxen Albaner liesen sich in der Zeit der Balkankriege "freiwillig" zu Mazedoniern assimilieren, da muslimische Albaner sie ausgrenzten. Für sie waren die orthodoxen Albaner aufgrund ihres Glaubens "Slawen" und somit Feinde.
Ich persönlich finde es schade, dass ein beträchtliche Zahl von Albaner zu Mazedonieren wurden aufgrund des sozialen Drucks der muslimischen Albaner.
Bis heute haben die nun assimilierten Albaner ihre Tracht und Tradition bewahrt.
